Mirande Bissell is a writer and teacher who lives in Baltimore, Maryland. Her poems have appeared in journals including Chattahoochee Review, Willow Springs, Mississippi Review, and others. Her poem "The Mammoth Steppe" was the winner of the 2019 Stone River Poetry Review contest. She is a 2019 graduate of the Bennington College Writing Seminars. ​Her first book of poetry, Stalin at the Opera, was selected by Diane Seuss as the winner of the 2020 Ghost Peach Press contest, and was published by the press in the summer of 2021.​​​​
